Welcome Back Preschool!

We have had a lovely first week back, we welcomed Clare Roberts to our team and she has been getting to know the children this week.

It was lovely to share the children's Christmas news and hear all about the presents they received, skipping rope, watch, piano, desk, books, tractor, spiderman bike, frozen umbrella and princess dolls just to name a few, what lucky children!

The children have been exploring our new theme Goldilocks and the Three Bears which they seem to be enjoying. I have heard lots of story telling going on in the role-play area "who's been eating my porridge" I heard Harry and Freddie acting out. Verity sat and retold the story to her friends, super retelling!

We have been ordering size, thinking about words, big, medium and small. Whilst playing with the porridge oats Esme observed "this is Daddy bears cos it's the big spoon" William observed "this is the little bowl" Annabel observed "this is mummy bears bowl cos it's the middle-sixed one" You are such clever children preschool.

In our outdoor play we have been using the wooden blocks to build a new chair for baby bear. Joshua created a new chair for all the bears. "This is for Daddy Bear, this chair is for Mummy Bear and this little chair is for Baby Bear" fantastic work!

We wrote letters to Baby Bear from Goldilocks, the children worked very hard to sound out words to help with their writing — I was very impressed! I have displayed the children's work on the wall please come and have a look.

We have also been working on developing our pencil grip and looking at correct letter formation.

Lastly I just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely presents and cards we received at the end of last term — we are very lucky!

I'm looking forward to another busy week!
