Our Up, up and away topic has continued with lots of practical activities linked to making balloons. We have created 3D hot air balloons, talked about their shapes and sizes and today we have being thinking about how the materials have changed. I heard 'It was awesome' when we popped the balloons, we did this to see if all our paper maiche work was strong enough. Now they are painted and are ready to form part of our display. A huge team effort, Reception. Well done!

Mrs P has been teaching us all about doubling, I have heard Reception counting in steps of 2 and 10 this week and we have been creating lots of 3D rockets. Our Numeracy learning has also allowed us to think about number bonds to 10 and to use numicon to make towers of 10.

The fabulous story Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram has been our focus story this week. If you haven't had chance to read one of Simon Bartram's books they come highly recommended. We will be making more links to the story next week during Science Week.

What makes you happy inside? We talked about all the things that make us happy, and now we are writing all about them. These ranged from seeing bird flying in the sky to making snow angels. Olly and Ziggy have gone home today to two children for being role models in class. I am looking forward to hearing all about you when they come back.

An update from the competition you may have entered before half term — we have had the first Dinosaur letters back this week. Thank you for taking part in the competition, the replies have been brilliant to read.

Have a great weekend. I hope you have fun making the parachutes for the bear.

Mrs Pointon.
