Teddy Bear Week - Preschool

Home » News » Teddy Bear Week - Preschool

Thank you all for fetching your teddy bears in last week to help us with our learning.

We kept your teddies very busy...They helped us to count and add together to find the total amount.
We ordered your bears according to size and measured them, we then measured ourselves thinking of words to describe our position in the line "I am taller than?" "I am shorter than?".

We tasted porridge, our favourite was the 'sweet porridge', we didn't like the 'salty porridge' "it's soooo yucky" described Freddie.

We listened each day to the "we're going on a bear hunt" story. You were all very good at joining in with the words and we thought of actions for over, under and through it.

We have been using porridge to help us think about estimating. We estimated how many spoon fulls of porridge it would take to fill Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear and Baby Bears bowl. Can you believe it took us 135 spoon fulls to fill Daddy Bears bowl!?

Some of the older children worked with Tara to write and describe their teddy bear. You are getting very good at linking your sounds in your writing — wow!

I hope your teddies had a good rest at the weekend!

Tara
