Stars on the Stage - Reception News
We have all seen you shine as stars on the stage this week. Our Nativity rehearsals have come alive with your confident and independent approach. A huge thank you for your hard work in preparing our Nativity Reception. This comes in the form of acting, singing and by creating costumes and scenery. On Friday we were very excited to show our Nativity story to our first real audience. We can't wait to show it to our Mums and Dads next week.
Our environment has been full of activities linked to the Incredible Boy who loved to eat books. This is another favourite from Oliver Jeffers. We have found out that he is from Northern Ireland, likes to go on skateboards and motorbikes, and that he creates all of his own illustrations. As he creates his own illustrations we have been drawing our own in the same style and talking to each other about which of his stories are our favourite. There has been lots of independent writing taking place this week, and lots children have been very quick to show how proud they are.
In class, we have started to learn about our partner school in Kenya. So far we have used the clues in the classroom to find out that 'Mrs Pointon has visited', 'it is in Africa,' and 'it is a long way away.' We are looking forward to finding out more as we create a Christmas card to send over.
One thing I have seen in abundance this week, is your kindness and team work Reception. Firstly in the way you are helping each other within our Nativity practises and also when we went out to explore the adventure playground. You were all very supportive of each other and helped your friends to take on a challenge or alternatively give support when needed.
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
