Sports Week

Home » News » Sports Week

Last week was National School Sports Week and here at Wybunbury, in recognition of this, we ran our own Sports Week.
During worship time we had some inspirational speakers! Aimee Addis, one of our students from reception, ranked 16th in the country in triple jump, showed the children her medals and spoke to them about her training and competing. Simon Davies, Tyler's dad, a former Man Utd player, now at Man City, told the children about his playing career, his current job and a fantastic snippet of information about never giving up!! Did you know which top Man Utd player didn't get in to the famous Class of '92 team? He also showed us some tricks, however Miss Lake and Mrs Jenkins need to work on their headers!! A huge thank you to Aimee and Simon for giving up their time to talk to the children.
During Sports week we also had some sports taster sessions. The whole school tried Judo and various classes took part in tennis, boxing, cricket, street dance and a multiskills session of handball, golf and skittles! A big thank you to Classroom Judo, Crewe Vagrants (cricket), Vicki Lightfoot (tennis), Crewe Boxing Club, Miss Rushton (multiskills) and Luke Burns (streetdance).
A fantastic, and very busy, week!
