Sports News
It's been a fantastic couple of weeks of sport for Wybunbury Delves.
Our netball team played brilliantly in the Crewe & Nantwich final, coming an excellent 3rd. The scores were very close with us finishing on the same score as the 2nd placed team. The placing was decided on points scored against. Thanks to Mrs Morales, from Ladyhawks netball, for helping the team.
Our cheerleaders performed a fantastic routine, finishing a super 3rd in their competition. The girls looked brilliant in their outfits and were ably supported by Mr Cornes, who also took part in a routine, complete with poms! A big thank you to Ashleigh, from Matrix Cheer, for coaching the team.
Finally, our amazing hockey team took part in the level 3 Cheshire & Warrington winter games final in Alderley Edge. They won all but one of their matches in the heats and went through in to the group 2 final, which they won! We now have another lovely trophy for our cabinet!
The children were outstanding throughout and thoroughly deserved their victory. The award for bravery must go to Toby (Y6) for continuing to play despite sporting a very swollen black eye from being hit in the face by a hockey stick! Thanks also to Chris Regan, from Crewe Vagrants Hockey, for coaching the team.
All of the sports clubs above, and others, liase with school and offer invaluable support to our children. They all have websites and are always on the look out for new members!
