Spiders - Preschool

Home » News » Spiders - Preschool

Thank you to Hugh who has led our learning this week. On Monday you shared your creation from home which was a wonderful egg box spider. We loved it so much and decided we wanted to find out all about spiders.

We have been learning about how important spiders are in our home as they help to keep them free from insects and bugs. We also learnt that not all spiders can spin a web!

In our activities we have been thinking about how many legs a spider has — "eight" said Hugh correctly. We have used play dough and pipe cleaners to create spiders and carefully counting out eight legs. We also created a paper plate spider also being careful to count out eight legs.

We have been developing our fine motor skills, we have used wool to thread and create spiders webs — I have loved the wonderful concentration the children showed whilst threading — wow!

Outside we have been busy exploring hunting for spiders and minibeasts.

Thank you for a great day preschool,
