Science area

Hello everyone,

As science subject leader in school, I am developing a dedicated science area in school, just outside the year 3 classroom.

I hope this will be an area of school which helps to develop your child's interest in the wonders of science, somewhere they can visit to explore, investigate and interact with science. Books about various aspects of science will be found here along with artefacts and ongoing investigations.

With this in mind, I wondered if they are any pieces of science equipment which your child no longer uses which could benefit every child in school. If anyone has anything which they feel could be of use, please do let me ) know. It would need to be in good working order and comply with the health and safety regulations to which we must adhere but would be gratefully received and very well used.

Once the area is set up, if your child makes any amazing 'finds' — an unused bird nest, an interesting rock or fossil...or anything else which makes us think scientifically, it would be great if they could bring this into school for display.

Thank you.

Miss Lake
