SATs tests and story telling Y6
So far this week, Year 6 have focused on completing their retelling of The Purple Lady and completed the 2016 reading, SPAG and spelling tests according to SATs week rules.
Everyone took the tests in their stride and worked sensibly to achieve their best. It is encouraging to see the results at this stage in the year and we will now use analysis to focus in on areas we can improve over the next couple of months.
George shared the view of lots of others, telling me 'This has been good because now I know exactly what it will be like during SATs week.'
Well done everyone! Your hard work with weekly spag and spelling homework is really paying off and you have a very good grasp of spelling and grammar rules. We have more work to do but I am sure you will work hard to meet the challenge I've set you to beat your own scores over the coming weeks.
Your stories are developing well and, once completed, you will be able to edit them to make them the best that they can be.
Don't forget, it's SCIENCE WEEK next week! Sam earned house points today as he brought in a home-made version of the balancing dove from the science area. I hope more of you will be encouraged to make and investigate before next week, and to share your work in class. I can't wait for the week to get started and hope you are all looking forward to it too.
Keep up the good work everyone!
