Robin Hood adventure with year 3

Home » News » Robin Hood adventure with year 3

Well, what a fabulous day year 3 have had living life in Robin Hood's shoes!

Our day started with a chance to eat our snacks and then game of true or false, followed by a walk to base camp. We heard some rules of the forest and then set off on task one: tree identification. We used twigs, leaves and fruit to help us identify 10 different trees in the woodland, searching for them along a trail. Then, back at base camp, we discovered how accurate we had been.

Next, we had to gather a plate of healthy food (using our imagination) and learnt about how Robin could have survived on a healthy, balanced diet from what the forest could provide.

By now, we had worked up an appetite and enjoyed our picnic lunch in camp.

We then began den building and what a brilliant job we did! Our dens were very well camouflaged too, just like the Outcasts' would have been.

Soon the campfire was lit and it was time to toast marshmallows (sticky and delicious) and to learn the skills of archery (tricky but fun). Matty was very impressed!

The day flew by and we all had such a great time we were sad to pack up and leave.

I hope you all have fantastic memories of your day and can use what you've learnt and experienced back in class. Well done everyone. I know Robin would have wanted you all to join him and the Outcasts in Sherwood.

I hope you have some Robin Hood adventure dreams in what will be a well earned sleep tonight!
