Remembrance Day 2016

Home » News » Remembrance Day 2016

Today, as a whole school, we came to remember those who fought in World War 1; we also thought about those who lost their lives in wars after 1918. Miss Pennance led our worship and at 11 o'clock, the whole school gathered together on the playground to mark the two minutes silence.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl, along with Councillor Clowes (a school governor) laid a wreath at our memorial to the Wybunbury Delves Old Boys who lost their lives in the First World War. Last year, we were honoured to have been presented with the memorial plaque by the Wybunbury World War 1 Group. It reminds our children to never forget the ultimate sacrifice that so many made on their behalf. A sacrifice that has allowed them live in a country where freedom, tolerance and respect are cherished.

'Lest we forget'
