Reception's Science Week

Home » News » Reception's Science Week

'It makes it's body into a curved shape in the middle. Then it goes straight again, then curved to move up or down the glass.' Can you guess what Holly is describing?

Reception has had a fantastic week learning about caterpillars! We had a special delivery of 30 caterpillars on Monday and we all had the opportunity to place each caterpillar in a new home. They are now becoming very hungry caterpillars, just like the story, and we are observing how they move each day.

Our whole week has been based on life cycles. We talked about the life cycle of sunflowers and have planted cress seeds. We are currently watering our cress caterpillars and have already spotted signs of new life. We can't wait to see them grow tall. Isn't the Science world fantastic!

We have also created a wonderful Easter garden with Mrs Taylor. This time we used grass seeds. Look out for your invitation to a fun filled Easter afternoon on Thursday 2nd April at 1.30pm. We are hoping send them out next week.

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine this weekend.

Miss Silvester
