"Holy spirit fill me up.
Fill me up until I overflow!"

Reception, what a fantastic job we have done of leading worship this week with the theme of Pentecost and the message of the Holy Spirit as part of our unit of work for RE. With such beautiful and enthusiastic singing we certainly let our lights shine bright. Thank you for all those attending and making it a special moment for us all.

In our learning this week we have further explored the book 'Flotsam' as a stimulus for our language development and writing focus, creating picture postcards to send to our families about the amazing sights and scenes we have witnessed along the shoreline and in the sea.

Continuing our mathematical theme of capacity, we have shared with our year 6 buddies our knowledge and understanding of this concept by explaining the differences of measurements and comparisons of empty, half empty, nearly full and full. They were very impressed with how confident we have become, well done us!

Our knowledge of sea creatures is beginning to grow too this week as our classroom is beginning to fill up with the most wonderful artistic creations made by reusing plastic waste following World Ocean Day. Keep them coming and hopefully we may look like the 'Blue Planet Aquarium soon!'

In PE we have continued to practice our tennis skills and have taken part in the daily mile challenge each afternoon to increase the number of steps we are doing each day.

In music, we have continued to prepare for our 'Adventures with Barney Bear at the Seaside' concert at Clonter next week. We are midway through through making our sea themed head wear and musical instruments, so fingers crossed the weather is good for us and we can put on a good show!

Have restful weekend
Mrs Taylor
