We have had a wonderful week in Reception. Our activities have been inspired by the story Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. We have had lots of learning ideas from the children this week and these have really enhanced our independent learning. In Numeracy, animals have been getting stuck in the balance tray and our Literacy activities have been related to writing labels. One of the busiest areas this week has been our play dough table and it has been lovely to hear the talk that has developed.

A huge well done to Reception for your hard work this week to tell the magical story of Christmas. Our Nativity songs and speaking voices are all becoming confident and I can tell you share an understanding of the importance of the story.

We have been thinking about the saying 'We can be anything we want to be' and 'We can make the world a better place.' Both these sayings are taken from the film Zootropolis, and we all enjoyed going on the coach to visit the Odeon to see the film. Watching the film was exciting and getting back to school to talk about the film was fun too. We have been inspired to create a picture of the world after our discussions, and what great pictures they were.

Today we have been thinking about the children we are raising money for during Children in Need. All your dressing up ideas were fantastic.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Pointon
