Reception News this Week.
This week in Reception has been a busy one! We have worked hard to get all geared up for Sports Day next week. We have definitely shown lots of confidence to take part in individual races and team races. We are all brimming with enthusiasm! I am looking forward to seeing you all take part on Monday.
In our group times we have been working on doing more and more learning jobs linked to our next steps for learning. These activities have been from all areas of our learning and development. Writing jobs have taken place, number jobs working on more and less have taken place and lots of physical activities too.
Our news feed photos link to our time in the garden this week. Lots of children have enjoyed observing ladybirds, creating a Minibeast show and designing new habitats for our minibeasts.
Our buddies have visited to help us think about our time in Reception. We have reflected on the year so far and thought about all the things we have enjoyed doing and what we would like to get better at in Year 1. We have heard some lovely responses and some thoughtful ideas were shared.
On Thursday Mr Dale came down to visit Reception and we got to ask lots of questions about Year 1. 'Do you read a story at the end of the day?' 'Do you play in Year 1?' We then chose Year 1 Detectives to go and visit the classroom for a quick look around. Thank you to all the Year 1 pupils for showing our Reception children around, they all came back with lots to talk about.
This afternoon it was lovely to welcome children and parents to our afternoon tea in the hall. Thank you to all of the parents who organised this event. I am just sorry I didn't take our IPad in to take any photos. All the cakes were delicious too!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Pointon
