Reception News
Another busy week is almost at an end. It was lovely to welcome more parents to our Learn along session on Wednesday, next week is the last session but there are still a couple of spaces available.
This week we have met a new friend of Percy's, Zogg. Zogg comes from the planet Zargot made completely out of rubbish and we think that Percy wants the milk bottle igloo for Zogg!
The igloo planning is going well, we have collected and sorted about 140 milk cartons. We have tried to work out how many we are going to need by measuring the base and height with milk cartons. We think 31 cartons in each row and 6 rows, so we are nearly there on the cartons. We still need to find a base for our igloo, if anyone has a large board or cardboard box from a something like a kitchen appliance that they could donate to us we would be really pleased.
In Literacy we have been writing about Zogg, his planet, where we go in his spaceship and what he might think about our garden. We have some brilliant illustrations to go with our writing and Mrs Dore is going to put some of these in the role play area.
In phonics we have been learning the air sound and some of us have been practising reading and spelling CVCC words.
In numeracy we have been counting forwards and backwards on number lines and trying to remember that we need to move our finger before we count.
Enjoy the weekend everybody, but especially all the Dads!
