Well... Santa had to learn some new skills this year. He and his elves magically sent each class a...
Reception have been busy!
The Gingerbread man story has helped us to continue our learning in lots of ways.
After last weekend's home school link, we have all come back excited to learn about 3D shapes. We have been making 3D gingerbread houses, created a shape shop and made a giant cube and pyramid to make a place of worship. Our shape language is really coming on too. Thank you for raiding your kitchen cupboards at home as we have shown your shapes within our learning activities.
In Literacy we have been looking at writing our ideas in sentences and we have learnt a sentence rhyme to help us. 'A sentence makes much sense, it starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.' We have thought about what would happen to the gingerbread man if he went for a swim and how we could tell everyone what the fox had done. We learning how to develop our independent approach to writing and we are enjoying the challenge. Today we have been wearing our hats as handwriting hats to help us write our letters carefully.
In PE our dance moves are developing in small groups, we have all enjoyed sharing our movements in a Wybunbury Delves Dance Show. The construction area has seen all sorts of different ideas develop ranging from a GIngerbread house, a race track to a Mosque.
Keep warm over the weekend,
See you on Monday
Miss Silvester
