Preschool's Week!

Home » News » Preschool's Week!

It certainly has gotten a lot colder this week preschool, we have been observing changes in the weather. "I've found ice" Esme told kimmy "it's cos its cold" you fetched it inside to show the children "it will melt" you told us all. The foot path led your play today as it was so slippy "I'm iceskating" Annabel said.

We have continued with Goldilocks and the Three Bears theme this week. The children know the story very well and have been working in groups to act out the story using available props to support them. The children have carried this on in their free play also. It has been lovely to watch and hear the children's interpretations especially the different voices of the three bears.

During their free play children have been building baby bear a new chair, there have been some fantastic creations as you can see in the photograph.

We have been developing our self-care skills. Using play dough,we have made food for our three bears and been practising how to cut using a knife and fork. Keep practising this at home preschool during meal times, this will really help you once you begin school.

We have had a big focus this week on forming our numbers, we are very good at recognising numbers 1-10, so your next challenge is to begin writing them. "1and7 are easy peasy to write" Freddie told me.

In small groups with Tara, our older children have continued to focus on sounding out small words and lots of you are now beginning to hear the blend and say the word -wow!

Thank you for all wearing your hats today we raised £15.00.

Have a lovely weekend preschool.
