Why do we wear a poppy?

This has been the question in preschool this week. At the start of the week we were a little unsure. However the children have listened carefully and today we had some lovely responses to the question:

Max "It for soldiers in helicopter, they die"
William " My great, great grandma died in the war"
Lulu "We remember the soldiers who died in the fields"
Xavier "Poppies came when the soldiers died"
Hugh " We remember the brave soldiers who died"
Megan "We remember the soldiers"
George " We wear a poppy to remember and say thank you to the soldiers who died"

The children joined the school for a 2 minute silence, they were such superstars and managed to stay quiet for the whole 2 minutes!

During the week we have enjoyed creating poppies, I hope you enjoy seeing the children's wonderful work.

We even managed to learn a poppy song too,

Thank you for being so caring this week preschool and for helping us to remember all the brave men and women that fought to keep us safe.
