Another busy week has been had at preschool. Thanks to more apples being fetched in by Alexander we were able to make apple crumble again this week -yum! It was lovely hearing the children describe the different textures of the crumble mix "Its soft, just like snow" said Lulu. We enjoyed eating the apple crumble at snack times.

We have been developing independence especially at lunch times. Children who have a hot lunch take their tray to the hatch and beautifully ask for their option, just like the 'big' children!. They have been working on cutting their food using a knife and fork. Children who fetch sandwiches are being encouraged to tackle opening their own lunch boxes, drinks etc. They are all doing so well sometimes just needing help with packaging. What independent children we have at preschool!

The Rainbow Group have been focusing on number and counting this week using numicon to help. We have been practising counting using our finger carefully. Look out for your home link to reinforce this at home over the half term break.

Butterflies and Teddies have been exploring the language of size. They have enjoyed activities with worms and compare bears to help.

Outside we have continued to explore autumn and searching for autumn finds in our garden. George noticed "acorns" on the ground, we all decided not to collect to many of them as we need to save for the squirrels.

It has been lovely sharing your autumn bags too!

Next week we will be enjoying activities to help us learn all about shape.
