Look at some of our learning from just before half term!

We focused on learning what sound the letter 'y' made. We ate yoghurt and marked 'y' using yellow paint to help us think about words that began with the sound 'y'.

The children used clothes pegs to attach the correct number of pegs onto the numeral. Some of the children took the numbers and pegs outside and ordered them correctly on the washing line — you are so clever!

Due to the wet weather are outdoor learning focused on mark making, using big brushes to mark big circles using paint on the floor.

We explored colour, the children used water and paint to see what happened when colours mixed. Amelia and Sam quickly observed that yellow and red made orange.

We had the guttering out, the children loved working out how to make the cars and balls slide down the guttering. William worked out that if you poured water down the shoot with the ball it would move more quickly.

The dolls were very dirty, the children used sponges and baby wash to clean the dolls, thinking very carefully about" not getting soap into the babies eyes as it would sting". You are all such kind, caring children.

As if we hadn't had enough fun — Joe Joe asked Kimmy if we could squeeze oranges to make orange juice, so guess what? Kimmy said yes! The children enjoyed squeezing oranges to make the juice, they then used to juice to make orange lollipops — yummy!

Another fun week had by all!
