Pop up fun in Reception
We have been exploring all sorts of pop up books in class this week and as a class we have made a design and a plan for a pop up dinosaur picture. We have thought about how we can make the dinosaur move, and we are all set to make them next week with our hand made marbled paper.
'Don't stop me now....' We have been singing this song today during our activity time. We haven't stopped this week and we have loved being out and about in our garden. 'This is really a dinosaur tooth!' We have had lots of dinosaur excavations in the garden...we have been convinced that the dinosaur teeth are from meat eaters. Our garden has also been transformed into a dinosaur café — writing menus and serving food to the right dinosaur has been Reception's forte this week.
In Numeracy our learners have been thinking about the value of coins and working hard to find the total. In Literacy we have explored our sentence work related to what would happen if the dinosaurs come back.
Our PE time has seen everyone take part in a partner dance piece, and we have used our dinosaur theme to move our body to the music. During our idea session I learnt something new, and you say every day is different in Reception, on Wednesday I found out about the Dab move — thank you Reception!
I am looking forward to seeing you at the disco tonight.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Pointon
