Police Visit - Preschool
This morning we have been visited by Darcey's dad and his friends who talked to us about their role as police officer's and how they help people.
We learnt that not only do police officers help to keep us safe from 'bad' people but that they have many other roles, including, keeping us safe on the roads, helping us if we are lost and are part our of community, looking after where we live. We also learnt about some of the equipment that police officers have, including hand cuffs, baton and walkie talkies.
We were very excited to get to sit in a real police car and listen to the siren and observe the blue flashing lights. We even got to dress in some police uniform!
One important message was that we should never be scared of the police, they are here to help us and we were encouraged to say hello whenever we see a police officer.
Thank you for taking the time to come and see us and for helping us to stay safe,
from all at preschool
