A Pilot visits preschool

Home » News » A Pilot visits preschool

Thank you to Harry and Edwards dad who came into preschool today and talked to us about his job being a pilot.

He introduced himself to the children and told them about what he does. He fetched in a model plane and talked through; looking at the wings, engine and main section. He told us that all the fuel in the plane would fill preschool — wow!

Next he talked through a typical plane journey and gave all the children a job, cabin crew, refueller, cabin manager, security, check in, air traffic controller, he then talked through their jobs and why they are important and help him to do his job.

We learnt — aeroplanes cant go backwards.
— planes don't drive they 'taxi'
— The runway is 3 miles long.

The children had lots of questions for him and told Ben lot's of things. "aeroplanes go really fast" said Myla. "do you press the buttons" asked Harry. "Where it goes it leaves a trail of clouds" said Solomon.

Ben then gave all the children a paper aeroplane he had made for them and they enjoyed flying them outside on the playground.

Thank you Ben,
from everybody at preschool.
