Owl Pellet Fun in Year 2

Home » News » Owl Pellet Fun in Year 2

Well, what a brilliant afternoon we had today in Year 2 being scientists and owl pellet detectives! Ahuge thank you from all of Year 2 to Mrs Tibbetts for a fantastic afternoon where we learnt even more about barn owls and then had our very own chance to investigate what the owls might have eaten by dissecting their owl pellets. We used tweezers and needles to dissect the pellets and then identifying cards to identify what we had found. The children were so excited to discover skulls, thigh bones, pelvis bones, jaws (including teeth) and even a full leg and claw! What did you find? The children showed patience, care and great team work. All in all a fantastic and fun afternoon that we wont forget in a hurry!
