Our week preschool

Hi Preschool,

You have all settled back into our routine beautifully since the Easter holidays. The tractors and teddy bear group have enjoyed getting to know their new key person's Libby and Emma. Look out in your child's tray next week for your new home link about getting to know each other.

Thank you to Bryn for fetching some beautiful flowers into preschool, this lead the learning for the butterfly group. They talked about the different parts of a plant and have planted flowers and potatoes in the garden. They have been responsible for ensuring the plants are kept watered.

Thank you to William, he fetched in The Very Hungry Caterpillar story and was able to retell the story to all of preschool — wow!

Thank you to Finn, you fetched in your chrysalis from home and we learnt that they will turn into beautiful butterflies. This lead into us learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly.

Our learning next week will continue based around The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Rainbows have enjoyed picking all the daisies and dandelions in the preschool garden, from this we used our numicon pieces to count how many we had, we then matched the correct number of flowers to the numicon piece — we are very clever!

Our new letter has been 'q' and we learnt what sound it makes. We then learnt how to form the letter. We have found this a little tricky, so please reinforce at home.

During our free play we have turned our focus to sharing and working together. Some fantastic creations have been built with the wooden blocks outside and the children have shared each others ideas and worked as a team — well done!

Egg timers have been added to the preschool to enable children to manage their own dilemmas with sharing.

What a busy start to our new term we have had!

Tara
