Our Week - With Photos
Working with our buddies this week has been wonderful, firstly in preparation for our visit to the Moss. On Monday, we gathered in the Year 6 classroom to share information about what we might expect to see at the Moss. Year 6 had prepared fact sheets and we looked at maps together.
On Wednesday we set off to the moss, and from the moment we left it was clear we were going to have a great day. The Year 6 buddies were supportive throughout all the activities and when you listened in to the conversations taking place, you could tell all of Year 6 were keen share all their knowledge about what makes Wybunbury Moss special. This made such a difference to our experiences and the volunteers from Natural England were very impressed! We split into groups to walk into the Moss, create Mandalas from natural materials, hunt for minibeasts armed with sweeping nets and pooters, and take part in a pond dipping activity. It was such an enjoyable day. Thank you to Mrs Tibbetts and Natural England for providing this experience for us.
In Literacy we have been writing all about what we would like to be when we grow up. We read a story 'When I grow up... ', wrote about our dream job and then wrote clues for somebody else to read. In Numeracy we have been thinking about our number formation with a variety of activities including a number hunt in our classroom.
We have also been busy getting our study work books ready to show our Mums and Dads on Monday. We are excited to show our learning from each half term and look forward to inviting you tomorrow between 2pm-5pm in the Reception classroom.
It was lovely to see so many of you at the Summer Lights Festival on Friday, I could tell you were having a great time! I hope the rest of your weekend has been just as fun.
