This week in maths we have finished our place value unit. We have been focusing on counting forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s. Can you keep practising this at home?

In English, we have been starting to plan our superhero stories. We started with creating a class superhero story and then acting it out. We then moved on to thinking about the main character...the superhero! We created a powerful name, thought about our super powers, outfit, skills, gadgets, super vehicles and arch enemies! You came up with brilliant ideas!

In RE we have been learning about the Bible stories where Jesus spreads good news, in particular The Ten Lepers and Jairus' daughter. We also enjoyed sharing the story of Stone Soup in our harvest service yesterday. Thank you for helping the children to learn their words and for coming to listen to our service. I'm sure you'll agree that the children spoke so clearly and told our message of working together so well. Thank you for all your donations too.

In science, we have continued to learn about the recycling of different materials and the origins of different household objects.

In music, we have continued learning this half term's song 'Hands, Feet, Heart'. Friday's song was called You can call me Al by Paul Simon. We learnt facts about the singer and the song. We danced to the beat and listened to the guitar and penny whistle solos.

I am proud of how hard you are all working in your phonics sessions and how much you are reading and home. It is lovely to see you so proud to share your reading with me and Mrs Parker.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Miss McCurrie
