Our Week in Reception

Home » News » Our Week in Reception

Our week has been an exciting one! We have enjoyed spending time in the garden with our friends.

In our daily Numeracy time we have been finding out about different numbers, counting different collections, and showing number with our fingers.

We have created massive paper aeroplanes with Mr Corne's help. In small groups we flew our paper aeroplanes and found out how far they can travel. Your paper aeroplanes from home have travelled far too! Lots of role play ideas have been inspired by a helicopter rescue that Freya saw. We have really enjoyed getting dressed up and rescuing people in the garden.

We have also celebrated our Red Day and our Kenya day this week. We saw how far the penny trail went and we joined our Pre School friends to sing songs and find out more about Kaiyaba School. We washed our hands with bottles of water and tried different fruit snacks. It was great to hear all our responses with our P4C activity. We talked about how important food and water is.

In RE the children have been finding out about the foods of our Harvest and why people celebrate Harvest.

Today's planning time has been wonderful. We now have lots of ideas for our learning next week. We are looking forward to joining the whole school for worship. There is also an invitation to go home tonight inviting us all to a PJ party on Thursday evening. Don't forget your teddies and toothbrushes!

I hope you enjoy making your treasure maps this weekend.

Miss Silvester
