Our week in Reception
This week we have been stars on the stage. Our Nativity practises are going well and we are really working hard to say our words.
We have had lots of fun in phonics this week learning the g sound. We have been cutting the sounds in words like gap, got, get. This was a great opportunity to work with a partner as we were able to put the sounds together again to read the whole word. A story called Good Dog has really helped to get us going with our early writing.
In Numeracy we are being very independent with our numbers and we have created game boards which feature our best number formation. They are now being laminated so we can use them like real game boards.
We have had a great construction site in the garden this week and the nativity play has inspired us to role play the Christmas Story outside.
On Friday we stood up in worship to talk about our learning to the rest of the school. We talked about how much we enjoy listening to the bear hunt read by Michael Rosen and how we are excited about playing our bear hunt number games.
