Our Week in Reception

Bump, bump, bumpity bump! is one of our favourite lines from our new story this week — Meet Zogg. In Literacy we have created story sticks. They have helped us to be super writers! We collected items from the school grounds and attached them to our stick. We tried to think of places that each item came from, so a leaf could be from a magical forest. A blade of grass could be from a dark forest. The places we have thought of this week have been wonderful. We have all been talking about what we are trying our best to do too. Today we wrote about where Zogg would go if he came to visit our house.

In Numeracy we have been getting to know where 1-20 are on a 100 square. Our classroom was full of numberlines and 100 squares this week. We have been making numberlines, the first two rows of the hundred square, and we have been counting as a class and looking at how high we can count.

We have loved being in the Reception garden this week as there has been lots of exciting activities; from racing cars to aliens and even a tug of war competition!

Today Mrs Taylor has been doing a wonderful song, 'We are going on a Prayer Hunt,' and the class have all produced prayers for a class book.
