Our week at preschool

Home » News » Our week at preschool

This week we have learnt about how a doctor helps us. We have observed lots of children role playing doctors this week and it has been lovely to hear their language

"get better"
"fix your arm"
"let me check your heart beat, you are alive!"
"your ear looks ok"
"stethoscope"
"a lion has bit my leg, help!"
"don't worry I look after you. I clean it"

In literacy we have made 'Get Well Soon' cards for patients at the hospital. I can see lots of your phonics skills developing during our literacy activities.

In mathematics we have focused on adding. We have added children, blocks, fruit and even plants. We will continue to work on this next week and may even introduce subtraction!

In phonics we have re capped all sounds learnt. Some of us have been writing the initial sound in words. Others have segmented and sounded out a written cvc word and another group have written a short sentence — wow!

On Thursday we had a visit from Hillary and Hillary from Nantwich library. They talked to us about the summer reading challenge. Your child has information in their tray in regards to this.

Thank you to Charlotte's grandparents for our beautiful plants. Today we have planted them.

Thank you for helping our preschool garden to look pretty.

Have a lovely weekend, lets hope the sun continues to shine!
