Our learning this week - preschool
So, we haven't just had a week looking incredibly cute, we have had a fun-filled week of learning too!
In case you didn't know our theme has been based around a sign of autumn — pumpkins.
In our literacy we have sang our 5 little pumpkins song, used pens to mark onto real pumpkins and have been marking 'p' for pumpkin.
Our mathematics activities have supported consolidating what we have learnt so far this term. We used the tap a shape to tap shapes in to pumpkins, we matched the correct number of pumpkin seeds to numbers and we have ordered numbers 1-10 to create a pumpkin.
We have explored different media to create pumpkins and developed our fine motor skills through threading to create a pumpkin and scooping the seeds from out of the pumpkin.
We have tried different pumpkin snacks during snack time. We tasted roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin ryvita with cream cheese and pumpkin seed quinoa — yummy!
We have been busy baking too, we made pumpkin soup and cakes. I think the cakes were a bigger hit than the soup!
What a busy week! Thank you all for the effort with pumpkin costumes, the children have looked wonderful.
Have a lovely rest little pumpkins!
