Our Learning - Preschool
We have certainly been busy these last few weeks preschool.
In phonics we have looked at the sounds 'i''n''m''d' and have been learning the action to go with these sounds. You have all worked extremely hard to focus and tune into the different sounds — thumbs up to you all! Your new phonics packs will help reinforce all your hard work.
To continue to develop our number recognition and counting out objects we have enjoyed many activities. We have counted Christmas bows to match number, used play dough to create the correct amount of baubles for the Christmas tree, found hidden numbers in the sand and much more.
We have been thinking about patterns, we looked at the pattern of a candy cane "red, white, red, white" observed Freya. We learnt this was a repeating pattern. We then created our candy cane Christmas cards being careful to continue the pattern. To further develop this we made paper chains, creating our own repeating patterns. :)
We made our own snow, we mixed together flour and baby oil. "it's not cold " like snow Isobel observed. "it's soft and cuddly like a teddy bear" Imogen observed. Perhaps you could try making this at home preschool.
You have also been very busy getting crafty and writing Christmas cards to your family and friends.
I hope you have enjoyed all the fun things we have been doing.
