Wow what a busy but fantastic final week we have had before our Easter holidays. I am so proud of...
Our First Week in Year 2
It is so lovely to see you all back at school. We have had a lovely first week and been very busy. In Phonics we have been looking at the long a patterns to find out which sound is used in different places in a word. In English we have been writing recounts about our holiday and begun to think about how we can improve our writing to make it more organised.
In Maths we have been looking at the value of digits in numbers, using place value and finding better ways of counting big numbers, like counting all the groups of 10 first.
We have been looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy and have tried to make art like his and we have taken photographs of it. Our welly prints now hang on the wall.
We have also begun reading our first book, 'Where my wellies take me', with Pippa going off to walk around the village and discovering lots of beautiful things on her journey.
