So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Our First News from Reception
We have had a wonderful first full week. We have been greeted with friendly faces and lovely smiles in the morning and as we get to know the routines, we are becoming more and more independent.
Our Y6 buddies have been a big part of the settling in process. We have enjoyed sharing books and the IPADs to take photos. Our links to Smiling have continued as we think about what we can do to make other people smile. The Y6 buddies were very complimentary.
We have begun to meet members of our school family, so far we have said hello to Mrs Hughes, Mrs Heath, Mr Long and Reverend Helen.
In Phonics we have been singing lots of songs as we learn about the 's' sound. This is a short quiet sound. Our favourite activity was making a silly soup which include ingredients with the s sound at the start or end of words. We liked putting in smelly socks, spiders, grass, books, Spiderman and even Miss Silvester!
The garden has been very popular this week. Our digging area has been transformed and the fairies have visited overnight to create a growing garden. We have a donation of new crates from Sainsburys too. These now form part of our new construction area.
Next week we are thinking about ideas linked to the story Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson. I can't wait to see all of our paper dolls.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Silvester
