Our First Messy Church

Home » News » Reception

Today Reception have celebrated the Christian value of kindness by hosting a Harvest Messy Church in the hall.

We greeted parents by retelling the story of the Little Red Hen and shared our learning through song, we loved seeing your Combine Harvester actions. Everyone took part in a range of activities including lantern making, salt dough bread, harvest cards and a design for a harvest meal. Following on from our home school link we looked at ways to help others through donating food to the Trussell Trust food bank. We have two lovely hampers of food, thank you for all your donations. Saying thank you on a global scale was an important part of our dice activity, we rolled the prayer dice across the map and shared our prayers with our parents for other countries around the world. Our Y6 buddies also worked with us to transform our cross into a Harvest tree with autumn leaves and fruits of the harvest.

Thank you for all the kind comments that we received this morning in thanks of being part of the childrens' learning and worship. Mrs Taylor would welcome any written responses for our Church School reflection to be given to Diocese.

We all hope you have a restful half term holiday.
