This week in Reception we have enjoyed writing Ladybird stories and reading in lots of different contexts. We have been reading sounds in Phonics, reading in small groups and reading our stories to each other. Our stories have been inspired by ladybirds who give their shoes away, the bad tempered ladybird and what the ladybird heard which was our story in Mystery Reader time this week.

Our technology time has enabled us to think about when we can use videos in our learning. We have recorded each other painting different ladybirds. This has helped us to develop out confidence to speak in front of an audience.

Ladybirds have been scattered across our classroom to continue our work on doubles. To find a link to halving, we have been taking away spots on a ladybird. Today we have learnt more about halving and Mrs Chesters has helped us to halve more independently.

Our feelings faces have now got lots of pegs on to help show how we are feeling. We are talking more and more about feelings during our day.

We have really seen a difference in the growing garden this week as our potatoes and beans are growing well. We now have a giant pumpkin to look after too.

Have a wonderful half term holiday,

Mrs Pointon
