To carry on our learning outside we have read the book 'Oliver's Vegetables' and this has given us even more ideas of what to plant outside alongside the different potatoes we planted this week.

This week in Literacy we have enjoyed reading 'The Little Princess — I want a party!' From the book we have had lots of ideas about planning our own party for our year six buddies. We thought they deserved a nice treat after their SATs and we wanted to share all of our learning about our under the sea topic with them. Thank you to everyone who brought in example invitations, they really helped us understand what goes into an invitation.

In Numeracy this week we have been looking at capacity in the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears.' We have been doing various exciting activities with all of the containers that you have brought in, so thank you for all of those. To end the week we have made 'bear porridge' for daddy, mummy and baby bear and we have been estimating how many spoonful's of porridge we needed to fill each bowl. The children have been truly fascinated by this concoction and so we will continue to explore this next week.

In PE this week we have carried on looking at different types of jumping. We pretended to be rockets launching into space and we used the long jump mat when we pretended to be frogs to see how far we could get. We also tried jumping from different heights outside using the benches.

Thank you to our mystery reader this week who was Miss Addis. She shared a lovely story with the class all about catching a star. If anyone else would like to volunteer to be the mystery reader one afternoon please speak to Miss Silvester.

As a final note, thank you to everyone who brought in t-shirts or the money for one, we are terribly excited to start our project using them next Monday afternoon.
