A new term begins and what a great week we have had.

In Maths we have continued with Geometry. We focused on angles; measuring, drawing and using them to calculate missing angles. I am very proud of our progress and our focus, we have all travelled far on the angle journey. Next week we will complete our Geometry unit as we look at translation and reflection of shapes.

In English we have begun our new unit. Our focus is non-chronological reports and they will be on Stonehenge. We have spent our week reading, researching, note taking and finally developing our report plans. Our knowledge of Stonehenge has developed well as we have dedicated our book club sessions to this too.

In spellings we recapped our able and ible endings and we also looked at tricky words.

In History we have begun to add our handles, we will finish these off next week ready for our study work front covers. We will then continue History by looking into the Bronze and Iron Ages.

We have begun our new Science topic this week. We will be jumping into the world of Biology, looking at living things including animal and human life cycles. We looked at our characteristics today and debated whether they came from our parent genes or from the environment around us.

Our Computing unit began this week. We are going to be reporters creating a podcast using the Audacity programme. We will be reporting on an archaeological find from the Stone Age. This week we looked at what a podcast is and how news readers use their voices to present the news. Next week we will begin to create our scripts.

During PE our lesson focused on netball and then we went on to play other ball sports.

Many thanks for supporting our Samba band last night. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Brine Leas and I personally think we should have bagged the most entertaining award. Go Wybunbury! If anyone has any photos of our performance I would love to share them on our website.

Our school educational visit to Tatton Park takes place next Wednesday. If you still need to send in your permission slips please could they be received on Monday. Have a fantastic weekend.
