National Science Week 2016

Home » News » National Science Week

National Science Week 2016 takes place between Monday 14th and Friday 18th March. This year we will make colour the focus of our investigations in school.

"Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science."

Across school, we will all enjoy a range of activities linked to colour in science. We may also complete investigations linked to our study work science during the week too.

Last year, many children enjoyed activities at home and were keen to share them in class. It would be great if you could encourage this again. Please do ask children to come and share their learning with me. Their work will be celebrated in our National Science week book! It doesn't matter if activities are not colour based...it is just lovely to see children engaged with science activities, curious about the subject, and excited by the things they discover.

Last year, the event created lots of discussion about the amazing things which happen around us and promoted a love of science in school. I'm hopeful that this will be repeated this year too.

If we have parents who are interested in science and wish to share an activity in school, please get in touch with me before 14th March. This can easily be arranged and would be most welcome.

Many thanks.
