We all enjoyed a presentation from Music for Life this morning. They showcased some of the 'BBC 10 pieces' and also demonstrated how different types of musical instruments work. We learnt that sound is produced by vibrations and that different instruments use vibrations in different ways.

The whole school demonstrated how they can keep the pulse of a piece of music as they clapped along to 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' which you may know from the Alton Towers advert.

Some of the children commented
'I liked the trumpet' — Layla, Euan and Joseph in YR
'I liked clapping the beat' — Finlay YR
'I liked the flute' — Holly YR

'I liked how they all worked together to make it sound better than if they were separate' — Daisy Y6
'I liked how they showed you what you can achieve after a lot of practice. It inspired me' — Jo Y6

Music for Life offer instrumental tuition to pupils within school. Please contact school if you would like more information.
