Mr and Mrs Grinling visit to Year 1!

Home » News » Mr and Mrs Grinling visit

Today, Mr Grinling and Mrs Grinling came to visit us at Wybunbury Delves. They told us all about the lighthouse and those pesky seagulls. Mrs Grinling also told us how Mr Grinling has been much healthier since we gave him lots of advice about healthy choices. Mr Grinling really enjoyed the curry we sent him and Mrs Grinling thanked us for the recipe we sent her.
This week in our history lessons, we have been learning about changes to the seaside within living memory. We learned the key words 'then' 'past' 'now' and 'present'. The children have been looking at old photographs, watching old videos and hearing stories about trips to the beach. Children, how has the seaside changed over the years? Think about clothes people used to wear and what they would do at the seaside. What is your favourite thing to do at the beach?
In English, we have been writing character descriptions, using capital letters and full stops and linking words such as and, but, because and so.
How are your cress heads growing? Have you eaten the cress yet? Well done to Dougie who has written a recipe at home for egg and cress sandwiches. Some of the children wanted the recipe and have taken it home. We enjoyed singing the well done song to you! Please send in your photos of your cress or your beanstalk to office@wybunburydelves.co.uk and we can share them in class on the big screen!
We are very excited to see you on Monday for our 'Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' theme day.
Have a lovely weekend.
