May the force be with you!

What a week! We have been investigating forces during our science week in Y4. We have taken part in many different experiments and enjoyed a visit from Mr Tibbetts, who showed us the many star constellations in the super Sky Lab.

In English, we have completed our final reading assessment and began to brain storm ideas to create a Harry Potter themed story. We began writing our opening paragraph today. Our story writing will continue on next week.

In Maths, we recapped our skills and strategies to solve problems in addition and subtraction. We have then gone on to complete our addition and subtraction assessment.

On Tuesday morning, we continued our weekly brass lessons. They are going really well and we are working hard on our brass pieces to share with parents soon.

In RE we have continued to look at the ways in which art is used to express thoughts, feelings and to tell stories. We all had differing opinions about the artwork we looked at and the children listened well to each other's opinions.

Our afternoons have been jam packed. We have continued our computing unit on understanding and using variables in algorithms. We have also investigated in pairs which type of stitch was best for sewing two pieces of fabric together, thus creating a seam. This is all in preparation for our Harry Potter cloaks we are making in D and T. I wonder which type of stitch is the children's favourite?

Hoping that year 4 have a super weekend.
