Look at what we have been learning!

The story 'How to make an apple pie and see the world' has given us plenty of opportunities to incorporate apples into our learning this week. In maths are using apples to count, add and solve problems and in Literacy we have been writing lists to make apple pie. When we sung We've got the whole world in our hands it prompted us to respond to George's question, 'Imagine if we did hold the world in our hands.' I loved listening to all your thoughtful responses.

We have begun learning in the Science World this week. Croc and Olly posed two questions for us. Why are walls made from bricks? and Why are windows made from glass? We then went on to think about materials in more detail in our small groups.

Today we went on our first visit to Wybunbury as a class. We all understood about staying safe as we walked into the village and we had a great time! Our focus was to look at the range of houses and homes in our local area. We saw a caravan, a bungalow, and detached, semi-detached and terraced houses. We also saw a cottage and the owner Den invited us in to look at the 500 year old exterior . 'I have found out what nails are made from, they are made from wood.' 'I saw a For Sale sign.' 'I saw another church. It has a clock.' 'I spotted a grey house.' We also visited St Chad's Church to have a look where we will go for our welcome worship in a few weeks.

If you are feeling poorly at home today, we hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you for another wonderful week.

Mrs Pointon
