Happy New Year, year one! This is not the way we wanted to start our new year but everyone has...
Let your light shine
Let your light shine. This week we have been celebrating the Christian festival of Candle mass. We have thought about how the candle light makes us feel. One response was it makes us feel 'nice and comfy in the dark.' We enjoyed it so much in class that we thought you might want to light a candle at home this weekend and think about how it makes you feel with your family.
We then opened up our classroom as a lamp and lantern workshop. We have created diya lamps, glass lanterns and completed our willow lanterns from last week too. Our buddies came down to help us create the glass lanterns and what a wonderful job we did. Thank you for all your jars, they are going to shine bright in the Festival of Lights disco tomorrow night. We are planning to join together with Pre School to celebrate our learning. We have both created one half of a a menorah candle and can't wait to join them together. Next week we will be able to show the rest of the school in worship.
In Numeracy we have created greedy alien masks to help us find the total of numbers represented as arrangement of dots. It has been great to sing a song to help count all of our numbers.
We have really enjoyed sharing the author books that you created at home this week. They have created a super display in the classroom, and we continue to make more and more books each day.
Miss Silvester is on a course tomorrow so Mrs Jenkins will be teaching our class along with Mrs Cross. I hope you all have a fantastic time at the disco tomorrow.
