So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
'a' is for apple - preschool
The children were so excited to find apples on our autumn walks last week so today began our learning around apples.
Firstly, we learnt what sound apple begins with, "a" said Annie correctly. We learnt an 'a' song to help us learn the sound. (You can find this song by typing jolly phonics into Google.) Once we had learnt the sound we thought about how to form the letter 'a'. I was amazed at how hard the children worked and how proud they were of their efforts to form the letter — what superstars!
During our free play we enjoyed many apple activities; we printed using apples, explored inside an apple, counted apple pips and the children's favourite, rolling apples down the guttering into the water tray!
This afternoon we went and collected apples in preparation for making apple crumble tomorrow. We counted how many apples we collected, 68 in total — wow!
Thank you for a great start to our week,
Tara
