We look forward to welcoming you all back to Spring 2 half term tomorrow — Monday 22nd February. ...
International Dance Day
What a fantastic day we have had celebrating cultural diversity with our International Dance Day.
Reception and Preschool wriggled and fluttered to learn some great minibeast dance moves, enjoying it so much they continued back in class.
Years 1 and 6 got very physical with their African dance moves, their footsteps perfectly in time to the drum beat as the children moved their bodies to feel the rhythm of the African music. By the end of the session they created their own class dance.
Year 2 managed to perform a very flamboyant flamenco worthy of a 'Strictly' 7 from Len. The arm shaping was fantastic as they perfected their castanet clicking.
Year 3 performed a medieval style dance based on knights and castles. They marched up to the castle, raised the draw bridge, rode through and then danced at a medieval feast.
Year 4 look amazing as they performed a Tudor style dance, moving forwards and backwards and then diagonally to the count of four.
And finally the Tangotastic year 5's who certainly showed great skill as they moved around the dance floor. There is a link for their performance on the year 5 class news. Well done.
A huge thank you to all the children today for taking part and showing our wonderful dance teacher from Education Group your enthusiasm to learn a new skill in such a short space of time. Just watching all the smiling faces as you performed showed what a great experience it was for all.
Have a great weekend everyone and remember to
"Keep dancing"
