Incy Wincy Spider - Preschool
A busy week was had at preschool last week. The children's learning was based around the song Incy Wincy Spider.
We focused on strengthening our fine motor skills by exploring spider's web's. We learnt that spiders can spin a web of silk. We had a go at creating our own web's. We threaded using different wool's and string. The concentration that the children had was fantastic and they persevered with their tasks. Can you spot your children's work around the preschool environment?
In our writing tasks we wrote facts about spiders, come and have a look at the children's work in preschool.
We explored how many legs a spider has. "It has 8" Alex answered correctly. We used our counting fingers to carefully count and check. We then made our own spiders using play dough and pipe cleaners to carefully count 8 legs. Imogen, Freddie, Alex and Eliza noticed "it has 4 legs this side and 4 legs here. 4 and 4 makes 8" Good thinking!
Outside the children enjoyed flushing Incy Wincy Spider down the drain pipe. They had to work out which spiders would fit down the drain pipe and how much water it would take. Lots of critical thinking took place!
This week we are focusing our learning based around the rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock.
