So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Hickory Dickory Dock -Preschool
This week we have based our learning around the rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock.
The children have been looking at numbers 1-12 and ordering them correctly on a clock, thinking about what number comes next. We have also practised writing numbers and the children are becoming very good at this.
In literacy we have looked at rhyme and we have been thinking about words which rhyme with clock. We have sang the rhyme and thought about what rhymes with the different humbers. "the clock struck 7 the mouse... went to heaven" sang Eliza "the clock struck two the mouse said boo" sang Alex and William. We had lots of fun thinking of different rhyming words.
We looked at the 'ck' sound and though about how to use it to write words, clock, tick, tock, dock.
We have looked at shape, the children cut out different shapes then used to create their own mouse.
Our new gazebos arrived on Thursday and the boxes they arrived in were perfect to create our very own grandfather clock, can you spot it in preschool? The children also used junk to create their very own clocks too.
This week we will focus our learning on various number rhymes.
Hope you have a lovely weekend, see you tomorrow,
Tara
